The temperature and salt concentration in the air gives Torrevieja its own 'micro climate' which has special health giving qualities, which have been recommended by health personnel all over the world. Today there is an increase in people who use the salt lakes regularly as a health bath. They are said to be especially beneficial to arthritis and asthma sufferers.

The climate in Torrevieja is very stable, belonging to the temperate Continental type, with predominantly mild temperatures in winter and summer. The coldest months are January and February, with temperatures typically ranging from 12 to 16 degrees. The hottest months are July and August with temperatures ranging from 28 to 35 degrees centigrade.

The Autumn - from October to December - is the very mild season with temperatures ranging from 21 to 27 degrees. Torrevieja has 320 sunny days a year - in fact Torrevieja has the same average day temperature as the Canary Islands.
